Location & Climate Martinborough is located in the Wairarapa region in the South East of New Zealand’s North Island. Located at the end of SH53, 20kms off SH2 and just 1hr 15 minutes drive north east from Wellington and 3hrs 45 minutes drive south west from Napier. The Wairarapa is bordered by the Rimutaka and Tararua mountain ranges to the west and wild Pacific coastline to the east. On a clear day you can see all the way to the South Island from Cape Palliser, the southernmost point on the North Island. Small planes and helicopters are readily available for an affordable and spectacular charter flight to a Wairarapa airfield or direct to your accommodation.
